Kim race single seaters throughout the 70s, taking the Aintree Formula Libre and outright lap record (1972) at a speed of 106.96mph (172.10kph) in a March 712M; the Formula Libre record at Oulton Park (1978) at a speed of 104.21mph(167.5kph) driving a 1980cc, Brabham BT35; the Formula 2 record at Snetterton (1978) at a speed of 115.21mph (185kph) driving a 1980cc, Brabham BT35 and the Formula 2 Record at Brands Hatch (1979) at a speed of 115.73mph(186kph) driving a 1990cc March 792 BMW. From 1977 on he drove the following Formula 2 cars in the Auroa F1 championship: ('77-'78), Brabham BT35D, ('78), Brabham BT34, ('79March 792) and in 1980 a March 802. Later in the 80’s he drove sports cars such as the Shrike P15 and Lola T598C in Thundersports. He also won his class in the 1993 Alfa Romero Championship in an Alfa 75TS.

This was an ex-Andy Barton March and was raced by Robert Rollo in the Northern and Scottish Libre Championships.

Note the lower wing and serrated engine cover when comparing this car with the March 753. Hillcrest is still selling cars today, a few miles up the the A19 from Croft, at Heselden.(see March 742)
