This 1979 model Delta is being raced in class B, those car built before 1980. This car seems to have been upgraded to T80 specs. There is little difference between the two however; most of the changes being minor body work improvements.

During his early career, Dave regularly appeared at Croft in a succession of Nike and Hawke Formula Fords. 1978 was a particularly good, when his Hawke DL19 carried him into the top two of five championships by June of that year.
Shown here is a brand new Delta T80 Formula Ford 2000 car which he raced during the 1980 season in the Harrison Brothers North of England Series. Dave, and the equally successful Formula Ford driver, Phil Tingle, started the Viking International Racing School at Croft at the start of 1979 using a pair of Van Diemen FF 1600s.
