Jeff came from Cleethorpes and ran an engine tuning business. His specialty was an inclines port head for the Mini's 'A' series engine. Inclining the ports created a more direct passage of fuel/air mixture from the carburettor to the combustion chamber, increasing the efficiency of the poor standard head design. Jeff's Mini was very fast and successful.

No sooner than the sponsorship deal been finalised, than Chris wrote off his car at Cadwell Park, the resulting damage being shown in the 27th of May '76 issue of Autosport. This did not put off the King's Lynne firm who had a long partnership with the Morey's rapid Minis.
