Bob was 35 when he had his first race at Thruxton in 1970. He went on to become the 1978 BARC Northern Modsports Champion. His car was a kit built Lotus Elan which featured a Don Moore prepared 1650cc Lotus
twin-cam
engine, and had its body and suspension designed by fellow Elan driver, Jon Fletcher.
