Althopugh retired for a long time, Stirling still made the occasional foray into motor sport. He is pictured here at Phoenix Park, Dublin driving in a GT race. Stirling's last race in the Republic of Ireland had bee in 1951 when he won the Wakefield Trophy at the Curragh. Also coming out of retirement for this race was another ex-F1 driver, Richard Attwood in a Porsche 917.
