This car was entered by the Royal Air Force Motor Sports association and built by them. The Name Ardua comes from the Latin motto of the RAF: Per Ardua ad Astra, Through Labour to the Stars. Using aircraft technology, what else?, this car was based on an aluminium monocoque chassis and also featured an aluminium front end. During the 1974 season, with a 1300cc twin-cam motor, it broke the Silverstone F1300 lap record with a time of 60.4 secs.
