Dave Brodie’s name is synonymous with the ‘Run Baby Run’ Escort of the late 60’s and early 70’s. He started racing in 1963, and continued until into the new millennium. During this time he took over 350 victories and many titles. At the time of this photo, the car sported a 2100cc BDA engine, having started the season with a mere 2000cc; it had grown twice to 2300cc by July of the same year. A year-or-so later he raced a Capri Super Saloon and also raced Capris in Group Two. His long career includes racing F3 and sports cars at Le Mans. Lately he has successfully competed in European Saloon car events as well as British club events. Dave celebrated his 42nd year of racing by returning to the circuit he first raced at, Silverstone, to race a Ford Sierra in the 2005, Birkett relay race.
