Richard (Rupert Bear) Long's Anglia pictured above was a fairly conventional car (with a BDA engine) raced during the '73 season. He is seen here with his greatest rival, Gerry Taylor, both drivers claiming most of the Anglia wins during that year. His racing career started in the late 60's, winning his first championship, in a Modsports Marcos GT, in 1970. After an unsuccessful year in Formula Ford (4 finishes from 22 starts) he moved to Special saloons. During the 1974 season he raced a super- light, spaceframe Anglia which featured Clubman suspension.
