Ford Anglia
Engine: Ford 997cc
Configuration: front engine, rear-wheel drive
Driver: Peter Burdis
Class: Special Saloons up to 1000cc
Date taken: June 1975, Chicane, Croft
For some reason the majority of Fords in the one litre class were Anglias. This car had a race tuned Ford engine which produced a very fast car for its size. A popular magazine of the time built a budget one litre Anglia from scratch; the engine being a Ford pushrod with inexpensive modifications. The body was all steel, including arch extensions, and the major part of the design concentrated on aerodynamics and road holding. Peter went on to race a Reynard Formula Ford 2000.

Ford Anglia
Engine: Lotus Twin-cam,1600cc
Configuration: front engine, rear-wheel drive
Driver: Brian Winrow
Class: Special Saloons 1300 to 1600cc
Date taken: June 1976, Chicane, Croft
Outwardly this car show few modification from standard, but the rear suspension in particular would have been heavily modified with radius arms and some sort of lateral location. The Lotus twin-cam engine and suitable gearbox, would have fitted easily into the the engine bay.
