Dud had a very successful time with this car during the 1977 season, winning both the Oceanair and Tricentrol Championships. On the way he gained 22 fastest laps, 21 race wins and two longstanding lap records at Croft
(88.0mph/142kph) and Donington Park (89.1mph/143.4kph). Dud moved to Sports 2000 for 1978, driving a Lola T492, these being mid-engine, sports cars with a Formula Ford 2000 engines.
