This car was the original chassis used by Noel Stanbury to win the Gregor Grant Championship in 1971, gaining class records at Malllory Park, Lydden and Brands Hatch in the process. Peter managed 6th overall in

Partof the Gryphon's rear suspension can be clearly seen running along by itracing number. These two parallel rods are radius arms and locate the
rear beam axle forwards and aft. Sideways location of the axle would have relied on a panhard rod which would have been attached
to the axle behind the driver, and the chassis at the opposite side. The full race engine is situated well forward and the driver is as close to the rear axle as possible to even
out the weight distribution. The similarity between the Gryphon's designation C74A and The Magnum's C75A is easy to understand: in both cases, the
