Colin started racing in 1973 with an MGB, moving on to Production Sports Cars in 1974, driving a Lotus Europa. 1976 was Colin's second season racing the TVR 3000M in Production Sports; this association continued until 1982, winning two championships on the way. After a moving to a Porsche in ‘83, he gained another two Prod Sports titles before driving for Mitsubishi in Production Saloons. Between ’84 an ’87 he gained five Prod saloons championships with 38 wins. In 1992, he became the TVR Tuscan Challenge Champion. Latterly, he has competed in Historic Sports car events and in the BRDC British GT Championship with a 6800cc Ultima GTR.The car shown here is the 3000M (1972 - 1979), a later version of the 3000cc V6 Tuscan which was produced between 1969 and 1971

The TVR Griffith was, in fact, a produced in America by Jack Griffith from TVR supplied Grantura rolling chassises to which Ford V8s were added. These cars were capable of 156mph (251kph) in standard trim and their performance in race trim can only be guessed at.
