Class: Modified Sports Cars up to 1150cc Date taken: May 1975 at Start line, Croft Autodrome
After successfully racing MG Midgets for some years, Ian acquired the works Mini Jem in 1973. The car was fitted with a very reliable 1143cc Mini engine to comply with the up to 1150cc class. With this he won his class in the 1975 BARC
Championship. When the new class for cars from 1150 -1500cc was introduced in 1976, a 1380cc engine, using a standard 1275cc crank, was installed, this combination brought him outright victory in the 1976

Steven started racing in 1974 at Castle Comb, with the Mini Marcos, and over the next 6 years won 35 races with 37 seconds and thirds from 95 starts. He won his class in the 1976 BRSCC Modsports Championship, and when
this photo was taken was well on the way to a class win in the STP Championship, and outright victory in the McVities Modsports Championship. The car was written off at Mallory, early in the 980 season, being replaced
