Class: Modified Sports Cars, Over 3000cc

Despite the E -type being the Jaguar to race in Modsports, John Pearson had a very successful time in the outdated XK120. The reason for this success was two-fold: a lightweight, fibreglass body, he was known as
John 'Plastic' Pearson for this reason, and highly modified suspension which had Lola components. A 3800cc, straight six engine, common to the E-type, provided somewhere in the region of 280-300bhp. The car is seen here
at one of the prestigious, Blue Circle Modsport Championship rounds of 1973. His greatest rival throughout that year being
Brian Hough in his TVR, the class championship going jointly to both.
