The V12 was the last of the E-types to be produced. E-types had been a revelation when first introduced in 1961 and were still an icon when this photo was taken. They had a top speed of 150mph (241kph) but lacked the high cornering speeds of more modern cars. This particular car was a fixed head coupe, and the 2+2 refers to the seating arrangement: two front seats and back seats so small only two very small children or one transversely mounted adult could be accommodated.
